This popcorn maker works okay but the force of the air is so great that it blows about one half of the unpopped kernals out along with the popped kernals. It is possible to seperate these and recycle them but again half of those get blown out without being popped.

This is a very poorly made, cheap popcorn popper. I should have been suspicious when the manufacturer's product description on the item page describes a meat grinder ("This meat grinder lets you create fresh, top-quality meats and spreads in minutes.") Someone messed up on that one! A flimsy plastic housing gets extremely HOT HOT HOT and is almost too hot to touch after the popcorn is finished popping. Just turning the switch to "off" was hazardous because you have to be careful not to touch the body of the popper while doing so. And talk about LOUD - sounds like someone is using a leaf blower in your kitchen! It only takes 1/4 cup of kernels at a time, which does NOT make very much popcorn. Then you're advised to wait 15 minutes before popping another batch. I bought this hoping that it would be similar to the Presto popper, only with the highly coveted "on/off" switch everyone wishes the Presto had. Big mistake! This is more expensive than the Presto, but it is NOT worth it. Save your money & buy a microwave popper. I had a microwave popper (Nordic Ware) for over 10 years and just recently wanted a replacement because it's not performing as good as it used to. I'll be getting another Nordic Ware microwave popper since that worked wonders in the past!

i waited for this product to become available, wanting an airpopper that would simultaneously melt butter.
this product can pop only a small quantity of popcorn at a time, it does not heat up the butter tray sufficiently to melt the butter, and--worst of all--the popper itself is so lightweight as to be unstable, and it easily falls over. since it was bought as a gift for an 8-year-old, i'm very sorry i bought it. in any but the most mature of hands, it could be a danger. don't buy it.

This machine turns it's self off before the kernels are popped, then back on and off again every two minutes. Meanwhile the popped kernels burn in the shoot. I had an awesome one from another company for 20 years, looked exactly like this one. This one is not good quality and performs even worse.
5.) The only quality thing on this popper is the off switch

I literally purchased this popcorn popper because it had an on/off switch. I didn't like that our old popper would automatically turn on when you plugged it in, and wanted another option.
Unfortunately, the on/off switch is the only value this popper has.
My major beef with the machine is that it spits out the majority of the kernels unpopped, which could be okay if I could recycle the kernels.
The machine has an auto-shutoff function (or something) to keep it from overheating - and this machine gets REALLY hot when its popping.
As a result, the machine will auto-shutdown after 2ish batches of popcorn which (along with having so much unpopped kernels to re-pop) makes it nearly impossible to get more than 1 serving of popcorn.
After much frustration, we've gone back to our older popcorn popper. It may not have an on/off switch, but it does make popcorn.

When the turn on the popper, it immediately kicks out unpoped corn all over the kitchen floor and the counter top. When the popcorn starts to come out, most of it does go into the bowl, but a good number also finds it way onto the kitchen floor and the counter top. The heating chamber is not tall enough. It was very poorly designed. I was also disappointed that it was made in China. I am tired of Americans losing jobs because we have imported so much from China. DO NOT BUY THIS POPPER.

After the last air popper I had finally became a fire hazard after many years of use, I decided it was time for a replacement. Unfortunately, this particular one was not a good choice and I am returning it today.
The first time I used it, and the second time, it set off the smoke alarm. Not a good start.
It is much smaller than I thought - I had to put it on top of a plate so that my popcorn bowl would fit underneath it. It has to be run twice in order to fill a normal size popcorn bowl.
But I couldn't run it twice, because halfway through the second try it stopped. Just stopped and wouldn't start again!
Since it is so small, the popcorn doesn't have room to bounce around, and so there were a ton of unpopped kernels spit out of it.
I should have known it was a bad product when I read through the instructions and it recommended putting sugar on the popcorn!

I received this popcorn maker as a gift. I grew up with one of the old school ones that had a metal tray to melt butter in, which worked great. Unfortunately this model has so many design flaws popping popcorn in it is tremendously frustrating. Allow me to list the two worst: The tray is intended for both measuring popcorn and melting butter, and is so poorly designed that having used this device twice now, I have dropped the plastic tray into the hot body of the machine when attempting to measure popcorn AND when attempting to melt butter. The machine turns itself off when it reaches a 'too hot' temperature, which results in failure to make more than one (tiny) batch of popcorn at a time. It will shut on and off, heat up and cool down repeatedly, taking forever and burning your popcorn in the process.
